Description: This interactive presentation includes the scientific definition of burnout and how it relates to your life, what the science shows about how to prevent burnout and how to recover from it.
In this session Beth will name three common myths about burnout and debunk each one. She will identify three cardinal facets of burnout, including how they feel on the inside, how they look in a colleague and identify three immediately-useful strategies for combating burnout.
Are the things you’re doing today going to leave you strong for tomorrow? Beth will share what four decades of scientific research on burnout can tell us about how we can work and live more productively with more energy and have better relationships.
Beth Genly earned her MSN from Yale University and cared for families as an advanced practice nurse for 23 years. She is also the co-founder of Burnout Solutions. Beth spent the majority of her time on faculty at OHSU and became tired of treating the consequences of burnout in her colleagues, students and patients. Now, she stamps out burnout at its roots. Audiences applaud her encouraging nature and passion for helping people through life’s toughest and most rewarding moments.
