Caring for All is the theme of the December GOSGMP Lunch Meeting.
We will hear from Ian Ruder, editor of the New Mobility magazine, speak about venue and transportation selection ensuring that all of your attendees are well cared for. Then we will hear from the Portland Chapter of the Scleroderma Foundation, the GOSGMP 2020 Giving Opportunity partner.

A little about Speaker Ian Ruder:
"I work as the editor of New Mobility magazine. We’re about to kick off our 31st year as the leading magazine for active wheelchair users. From profiles, to resources, to products, to investigative reporting, if it affects the quality of life for wheelchair users, we cover it. As a quadriplegic and wheelchair user myself, the magazine has been a big part of my life for over 20 years, the last eight of which I have worked on staff. As you can imagine, the ADA is central to much of what we do, and if I’m being honest, much of my life. I know it’s a heated issue in civic and travel world and I fear that its impact is often tarnished by misinformation or lack of education."

Ian will be addressing travel industry issues as it relates to ADA practices and presenting information that will assist planners in ensuring that all of their attendees are accommodated properly.

A little about the festivities:
We will be celebrating the giving season with a Mystery Gift Drive.
To donate to the Mystery Gift Drive, simply gift-wrap an item valued at $20.00 and bring it to the meeting. Tickets for the Mystery Gift Drive are priced at $10.00 for one ticket or $20.00 for two tickets. Winners pick their choice of wrapped gifts. Proceeds from the drive go to the GOSGMP Scholarship fund.

The Winter Wonder Fund will be drawn at the close of the meeting. You can purchase your $5.00 Winter Wonderful Tickets online during the meeting registration process or at the meeting itself.

(Note: There will not be a $1.00 raffle in December.)
